As part of the settlement, Joe Senior built what is today known as the Brisbois House for his estranged wife on Water Street, St. Feriole Island, Prairie du Chien, WI. As his sense of adventure developed, Joe Jr. headed back west in 1840 and by the time he was 21 he was working for his father’s partners in the Red River valley area of Minnesota.
Vero man. Vero man refers to a set of fossilized human bones found near Vero (now Vero Beach), Florida, in 1915 and 1916. The human bones were found in association with those of Pleistocene animals. Recent studies show that the Vero human bones are from the Pleistocene, and are the largest collection of human remains from the Pleistocene found in North America.
Whelihan played his first game in Week 8 (October 16) of the 1997 season, in a 31-3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Replacing Stan Humphries, Whelihan completed 2 of 8 passes for 13 yards. Whelihan replaced Humphries as starter effective Week 10 (November 9) because Humphries suffered concussions.
The New York Times reported that the Stars had their largest crowd at Shibe Park in June 1943 when they beat the Kansas City Monarchs in front of 24,165. After 1947, the Stars played home games at area ballparks including Wilmington Park in Delaware, home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks minor-league team.
Tweddle retired in August 2013. Post retirement, Tweddle’s profile allowed her to take on a variety of media and sporting work. On 10 March 2013, Tweddle won the eighth series of Dancing on Ice along with partner Daniel Whiston, who won the show for the third time.
Vincent’s were the champions and Keaveney picked up his first county senior championship winners’ medal. After surrendering their title in 1965 St. Vincent’s were back in the county championship decider again in 1966.
