By the end of his life, Huxley was widely acknowledged as one of the pre-eminent intellectuals of his time. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in seven different years. Huxley was born in Godalming, Surrey, England, in 1894.
Baur continues to have enormous influence, but today there is less interest in determining Luke’s historical accuracy (although this has never died out) than in understanding his theological program. Luke was written to be read aloud to a group of Jesus-followers gathered in a house to share the Lord’s supper.
