Lamotrigine has been implicated in the apoptotic neurodegeneration of the developing brain. GlaxoSmithKline investigated lamotrigine for the treatment of ADHD with inconclusive results. Another study reported that lamotrigine might be a safe and effective treatment option for adult ADHD comorbid with bipolar and recurrent depression.
