This section was completed on January 4, 1911, less than eleven months after the contract was let. The other major portion of NY 138, SH 770, covered a small portion east of SH 775 and all of the modern designation out to NY 121.
James Moody created his improvised solo in 1949 on a visit to Sweden. Moody’s version clearly shows the influence of Charlie Parker. In 1952, jazz singer Eddie Jefferson wrote lyrics to this improvisation by Moody, a practice known as vocalese.
Miss Marguerite Hamilton replaced Mrs. Sarah Kelly in 2010 as the school principal. Catherine McAuley said: Let us rejoice when good is done, no matter by whom it is accomplished. The school strives in the words McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, to fit young women for Earth without unfitting them for Heaven.
