Arriving 8 November, she prepared for Pacific duty, and sailed from New York on 26 December. Lyon embarked combat forces in San Francisco in January 1945, and departed for the invasion of Okinawa. Lyon successfully completed her role in this major attack in the face of kamikaze attacks, and returned to San Francisco on 21 May.
He received the Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan Award for Excellence in Indian Cinema at the 4th Vijay Awards. Rajinikanth was also named one of the most influential persons in South Asia by Asiaweek. He was also named by Forbes India as the most influential Indian of the year 2010.
During his string of defeats he did beat Matthew Stevens in the non-ranking Masters from 4-1 down (Stevens also missed a pot for 5-1), but then lost 1–6 to eventual champion Mark Selby. His poor season saw him drop 12 places in the rankings to world number 15.

Goldstone was named the 2007 Weissberg Distinguished Professor of International Studies at Beloit College, in Beloit, Wisconsin. In Fall 2007 he was the William Hughes Mulligan Professor of International Law at Fordham University School of Law, and held that position again in Fall 2009.
This capacity building includes, in collaboration with the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, the building of the first research laboratory in Mongolia dedicated to the study of aquatic invertebrates.
