In May 1998, Khan was among one of the senior scientists who had witnessed the country’s first successful land leveler test in Rasoi Kaojo Hills. In 1999, Khan joined the European Organization for Nuclear Research (French for Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire or CERN), where he worked as senior scientist.
New taught art and art appreciation at Mount Mary College and lectured on history of art and cultural anthropology at Marquette University. New was awarded an honorary degree from Mount Mary College in 1937 and the Pere Marquette award from Marquette in 1957.

On 9 June 2011, Toño moved to Villarreal CF’s reserves for a €25,000 fee. He acted mainly as a backup to Pere Martínez, appearing in 18 matches as the Amarillos were relegated from division two. On 15 January 2013, Toño was loaned to CE Sabadell FC until June.

He spent his career with ORSTOM ( Office de la Recherche Scientifique et Technique Outre-Mer ), now IRD ( Institut de recherche pour le développement ).
