A break in the schedule was for the 1978 World Championships, held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, West Germany, between January 29 and February 5, 1978. During this season, no combined was scheduled for the World Cup.
Many from the ranks of the military teams in the ORFU became stars in the CFL after the war.
